I had a blast on this session. I came home to Scottsbluff, Nebraska for Christmas and met up with an old friend to do some maternity photos and I couldn't have been more excited.

The excitement for a new baby is contagious, especially when the mother-to-be is getting close to her due date. You can just feel the anticipation.

I used to be terrified of family sessions. I never knew how to talk to the kids especially when adults were watching. I am so glad I have overcome that and now get to enjoy being able to relax and play. We all have a kid inside of us and I love letting her out, especially when it is social acceptable to just be silly. Tristan, the young boy in the session, and I played what animal do you hear. We made some up and some we really heard. I think it is important to be able to connect to children during a family session because most likely they aren't thrilled to be there until they start having fun. He is such a wonderful smart well-mannered boy. I know her daughter is going to be just as amazing. The photos of her daughter, Parker, will be up on my blog soon so stay tuned.

This last shot might need a little explanation. We were trying to get Tristan to give Ashley's belly a little kiss. Kyle stepped up to the plate to give him a little encouragement and I couldn't help but snap a picture.
